Jinee Burdg was born in Seoul, South Korea. She was later adopted and spent her childhood in the sunny suburbs of California, Arizona, and Georgia. Ms. Burdg is a diligent, conscientious team member in any activity she involves herself in, especially her service to the community.

In high school, Ms. Burdg established a community service club for her peers, the Starr’s Mill High School chapter of the Junior Octagon Optimist Club International (JOOI).  She continues to work with the members of this organization and with the community organization, the Optimist Club International of Peachtree City, Georgia where her parents are life members.

Ms. Burdg also competed in cross country and track & field at Rising Starr Middle School and Starr's Mill High School. Her events included sprint hurdles, long jump, high jump, pole vault, and sprint relays. Girls pole vault was an exhibition sport. Today, girls pole vault is considered in the team's score.

Ms. Burdg graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in dietetics from the College of Family and Consumer Sciences May 12th, 2007. Following her graduation, she began a new phase of her journey in Maryland and Washington, D.C. completing her dietetic internship through the University of Maryland at College Park. The program began August 30th, 2007. Graduation ceremonies occurred on June 27th, 2008 at USDA’s National Agricultural Library in Beltsville, Maryland, one of her many internship rotation sites.

Following graduation from her internship, Ms. Burdg accepted a dietitian position at Moveable Feast in Baltimore, Maryland with a focus on food service & meal delivery and nutrition assessment, counseling, and education for individuals with HIV/AIDS and breast cancer as well as other comorbidities.

Ms. Burdg also offers consulting services on a part-time basis for the Washington, D.C. and Maryland area. Please see the Services page for more information.

Ms. Burdg has a deep regard for all that past and current dietitians have accomplished throughout the past several years. She plans to advocate further for the dietetics profession and promote the merit of preventive health care, medical nutrition therapy, and dietitians’ involvement within the healthcare and the legislative communities.
